Garage Sale Queens Homeless Project

Homeless Project   2007 – A New Year – Well, the year is starting off with a bang! In January, my sister, Leigh Ann, donated a backpack and six jackets ranging in size from small to 2X. The following weekend, I found a backpack and three baggies of toiletries at a yard sale. And, the weekend after that, Kate bought a jacket at a yard sale and a gentleman donated a blanket from his garage sale. Plus, I found a knit cap in our spare room that somehow hadn’t made the transfer to the new shed last year.

Homeless Project   February 2007 – Exciting News! We just got word that Texas Country Reporter is going to do a story on us. Bob Phillips will be coming to Lockhart to interview us in November. This is actually doubly good news. Firstly, the television exposure might get people out there wanting to help; and secondly, we love an opportunity to put on our tiaras and prance around as the Garage Sale Queens. (Yay!) Hmmmmm? Now, what shall I wear?

Homeless Project   March 2007 – For our birthdays, Kate and I decided to get new driver’s license pictures taken with our crowns on! Bet you didn’t think they’d let us do it – but THEY DID!

Homeless Project   2007 Parade News – We won another first place ribbon at the Chisholm Trail Round-Up Parade in June and another trophy at the Guadalupe County Parade in October!
